Elena Sgarbossa

Elena Sgarbossa is an Italian artist, active in the field of contemporary dance and performance.
She graduated at Corso Triennale Professionale di Danza Contemporanea del Balletto di Roma directed by Roberto Casarotto, enriching her practice through projects supported by national and international institutions.
Her artistic path weaves together choreographic processes and experimentation, but also research and movement projects for communities. Over time she consolidated the dialogue established with OperaEstate Festival and the community of Bassano del Grappa (VI) where she was able to approach the teaching practice Dance Well – Research and Movement for Parkinson’s.
She is one of the selected artists in the first and second edition of Empowering Dance, an European project about the connection between contemporary dance practice and soft skills, supported by the Erasmus+ program.
In 2019, she approached the choreography experience creating KEO, the winning performance of DNAppunti Coreografici.
As a performer she has collaborated with Marco D’Agostin, Masako Matsushita, Melanie Demers, Yasmeen Godder, Nora Chipaumire, Chiara Frigo, Davide Valrosso.
She is a co-founder of the artistic team Base 9, a cultural association that co-imagine and co-create choreographic, participatory or workshop projects for theatrical spaces but also museums, urban and natural spaces.
