Antonio Taurino

Antonio Taurino born and raised in Taranto, approaches the study of ballet and contemporary dance at the age of 7. After an initial approach to dance in his hometown, in 2014 he continued his studies at the National Dance Academy in Rome (Technical-analytical three-year course in contemporary dance), where he was able to deepen the study of ballet, floorwork, historical techniques of Modern Dance (the Cunningham technique in particular) and coming into contact for the first time with improvisation and choreographic composition, reaching, in 2018, the first level Academic Diploma in contemporary dance with full marks. During his academic studies he had the opportunity to confront and study also with internationally renowned masters and choreographers (Sara Simeoni, Richard Haisma, Lenka Vagnerova, Fancisco Cordova, Erika Silgoner …).
In 2015 he met and collaborated with Marianna Giorgi. In 2017 he began collaborating with the choreographer Erika Silgoner, artistic director of Esklan Art’s Factory and, again in the same year, with Ludovic Party. In 2020 he comes into direct contact with the Gruppo e-Motion company as a dancer and performer in the latest creation of the director Francesca La Cava and as a young emerging choreographer, thanks to the support of the company itself which allows him to continue the long artistic path of creation and choreographic composition. In the same year, in fact, Small living space comes to life, the first choreographic creation selected for the Vetrina della giovane danza d’autore eXtra 2022 of the Anticorpi XL Network. In 2021 he began to collaborate with the company Fabula Saltica – Balletto di Rovigo directed by Claudio Ronda.
In 2022 he took part in the new creation of the Atacama company of Patrizia Cavola and Ivan Truol.
