Marta Magini (Senigallia, 1995) is an artist and performer based in Venice. She graduated in Visual Arts at the IUAV University of Venice and subsequently completed the MAP_PA Master’s program in Performing Arts at the Mattatoio in Rome. In 2025, she participated in Nuove Traiettorie – a project by Network Anticorpi XL. Her works have been presented in various contexts, including Microcosmi Festival, Rassegna Collagene, Microonde Festival, Undesign Festival, Auditorium Candiani, and OGR.
Since 2023, she has collaborated with sound artist and researcher Nicola Di Croce on performative, sound, and visual projects, including Richiamo (se fosse nel silenzio che i merli si parlano) (2024), I cieli non sono umani (2025), and Giacinto (2025), which have been presented at venues such as Rami d’Ora Festival, Elementi Festival, Simultan Festival, Bao Music Festival, Umbria Factory Festival, Fumi della Fornace. She has also presented her work in exhibition spaces such as Adolfo Pini Foundation, Spazio Punch, Aarduork, Città delle 100 scale, the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, ArteFiera.
Among the residencies she has participated in: Almanac, Atelier Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, MAC Studi d’artista, GAP Guilmi Art Project, Giardino di Villa Cappuccini, and Spazio Zut. Over the years, she has worked as a performer for artists including Enrico Malatesta, Claudio Larena, Qingmei Yao, Gli Impresari, Giovanni Gaggia, and Francesco Arena.
In her work, she examines the relationship between gesture, time, and inertia. Minimal units of movement, details of gestures, and bodily rituals are explored through extended durations, repetitions, and loops. Working at the threshold between mobility and immobility, she develops devices that create a tension between subject and object, sculpture and the body in motion.
