Glenda Gheller

Originally from Asiago, Italy, Glenda began her professional training through various dance programs across Italy. She then moved to the UK, where she continued her education at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. She graduated in 2018 with a First Class Honours Degree and, in the autumn of the same year, joined VERVE19, the postgraduate dance company directed by Matthew Robinson. In August 2019, she completed her MA in Contemporary Dance Performance.
In January 2020, Glenda joined Scottish Dance Theatre as a company dancer, based in Dundee. During her time with the company, she performed works by choreographers including Sharon Eyal, Maxine Doyle, Noa Zuk, Emanuel Gat, Roser López Espinosa, Sofia Nappi, Botis Seva, Joan Clevillé, Ben Wright, Theo Clinkard, Colette Sadler, Mele Broomes, Janine Harrington and Meytal Blanaru.
In June 2023, Glenda joined Komoco, the Italian company directed by Sofia Nappi, for a collaboration that led her to perform internationally in four productions: Chora, IMA, PUPO and Wabi-Sabi.
Alongside her performing career, Glenda has been developing her teaching practice since 2020, leading classes and workshops for students, professional dancers and companies across Italy and the UK.
Over the past few years, she has developed her own artistic voice as a choreographer. In 2022, she created her first full-length work, Achilles’, commissioned by the Sicilian company Ocram Dance Movement, for which she later created the duet Love Parade (2025), one of the two winning projects of the This Must Be The Space 2026 call organised by Festival Danza Estate and MILANoLTRE. In 2024, she presented Camaré, a solo work produced with the support of Teatro del Lemming, Operaestate Festival Veneto and Scenario Pubblico [Centro di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale], finalist of the Twain Centro Produzione Danza call in 2026.
She was also commissioned by the Institute of the Arts Barcelona (IAB) to create Double Folk for their graduating class. In spring 2026, she created la figlia femmina, a work commissioned by Il Balletto di Calabria, and Filò, a new production commissioned by the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK).
