Duration 45 minutes
An exploration of the internal and external fractures that the female body must welcome and endure as it changes – and as life itself changes – with maternity, seeing it as defective, tainted by the shadow of imperfection, deformation and inability that stretches across it in the social and professional spheres.
Exposed in its condition as the matrix and consequence of a rupture, a tear.
It exists in a liminal place: sensual, generative, deformed, stooped, slave to anthropological and political duties, plump and lean, tear, fracture, breach, rip, refusal and residue, double. And then soft, empty, imperturbable and upset, inadequate and hostile, but also loving and gentle. An altered, lacerated, duplicated body, left alone yet full of life.
It is about becoming unknown and accepting it, and continuing the dialogue between what it generates and what it hosts, between AN inside and AN outside.
