The creation takes the form of a story, a movement of body-to-body contact, which aims to amplify and give space to the intrinsic possibilities of sign language. Long marginalised and alienated by phonocentric power processes that have attempted to abolish it throughout history, LIS is a human, living, bodily language; it does not speak of margins but of new
forms. Monumentum DA brings into play the relationship between language (signs) and speech (dance), observing the erosion of the boundaries between the
two semantic fields. LIS and Diana’s body are an archive of documents in constant transformation; we could call them “linguistic monuments” that form a narrative in which the politics of a body converge in a vital impulse – and thus reconnect with the shared history of a momentary collectivity.
It is therefore a question of reconsidering the expressive potential of all bodies and opening up a space in which diversity is a pure expansion of possibilities.
