RMX stems from a reflection on the myth of Narcissus and explores the relationship between humans and their represented image. Moving from full corporeality to digital vaporization, the performers on stage progressively dive into the depths of the image.
Two bodies and two smartphones, constantly negotiating between the real and the digitally mediated realms, manipulate live-generated audiovisual content to explore the concept of disorientation in the post-media era.
In the context of Web 3.0, where the democratic access to image-production tools is becoming reality, the practice of remixing (trends, videos, sounds…) takes on a particular significance, establishing itself as the true cultural form of our time. The narrative of RMX thus becomes a metaphor for the “society of performance”, in which we are all creators and consumers, producers and audience. In a term coined by Alvin Toffler, we are all “prosumers” of a spectacle centered on the image of ourselves that we choose to represent.
