In an era where time seems to slip through our fingers, two dancers find themselves suspended in an exiling dimension. The platforms they move on are slide boards, tools that make bodies sway, simulating speed skating: at times they seem to advance, to chase each other, but never quite succeed.
Each glide, each movement, is a direction without destination, a relentless oscillation. The awareness that the present is the only place where we can truly exist becomes the most elusive illusion: a constructed time that may be nothing more than a smoky fade between an imprint of the past and a propelling future.
Electro-pop sounds dominate the scene, with fast, insistent beats weaving together in a DJ set, marking the rhythm of the performance like a relentless pulse.
Sound merges with movement, reinforcing a hypnotic metronome that highlights a cyclical score—just like the constant shifting back and forth on the slide boards.
Within this eternal motion, the two performers inhabit the core of a time that is never the same, a form of resistance to an uncertain future that slips away.
Everybody Has a Fate invites us to reflect on the nature of time, the meaning of the present, and the hope for a future that – though uncertain – asks to be reached.
