FUGA BWV 565 is a performance centered on running, which becomes a metaphor for a paradoxical existential condition: that of someone who moves while remaining still, escaping from themselves and their circumstances, in search of a wellbeing that is always yet to come. A treadmill training session becomes the occasion for an imaginal drift, carried by soundscapes drawn from Baroque music and the world of entertainment, capable of rewriting the very meaning of athletic practice.
With this project, the artistic duo Palermo/Petrosino continues their investigation into the nature of the performative act starting from the ordinary, giving life to a minimal choreography of concrete gesture, between reality and fiction.
