The iris is a sphere through which light passes, enabling vision, but it is also a flower, an iridescent mineral, certain species of iridescent animals, and a genus of insects belonging
to the order Mantodea. It is a generator of worlds. Within an ecosystem, language is an organic quality that arises from the relational process of the elements that compose it.
‘Ìride’ arises from its relationship with the specific environment it inhabits, positioning itself within the quest for a new generation of language; within the processual nature of the
natural world, within the system of relationships, there is a co-habitation and co-creation of eco-specific environments and dramaturgies which, in the performative act, are
recomposed by the gaze. ‘Ìride’ is a performance that specifically reflects the place it inhabits and from which it is viewed. Drawing inspiration from the observation of the nature of water, it explores – through the concept of the gaze as a compositional tool – the fluid relationship between subject and landscape: emptying the viewer into that which is viewed.
