Spazio A Teatro

Spazio A Teatro is an artistic collective founded in Ravenna in 2020, by a group of artists bringing together diverse scenic experiences and multidisciplinary backgrounds. The group envisions theater in its public and social function: as a medium to build community, stimulate constructive energy and create space for research, experimentation, and listening to the needs of the surrounding community.
Since 2020, the collective has developed urban performance projects (such as Poesie A Domicilio, Il Cacciatore di Sogni, and Russi-Combray), and since 2021, it has curated the Ra-dici theater festival in Classe (Ravenna). Among its major productions are the shows and monologues Metronomo (Teatro Rasi, 2022) and Im labyrinth (Ravenna Teatro, 2023). In the same year, their script La danza delle api (previously a finalist for the 2022 NdN grant) reached the finals of Rome’s PROSIT! prize for contemporary playwriting. In 2024, their co-production with Orchestra La Corelli, Il diario di Gian Burrasca, debuted during the youth season at ERT – Teatro Bonci in Cesena before touring major national festivals, while the Municipality of Ravenna commissioned the collective for the commemorative performance All’Altezza dell’agognata libertà.
Over the years, Spazio A Teatro has established partnerships with prestigious organizations, including Ravenna Teatro/Teatro delle Albe, Nerval Teatro, Lady Godiva Teatro, and Monica Francia. Notable highlights include a collaboration with CISIM/LODC for a trilogy produced by the Ravenna Festival (Panchatantra in 2024, Bhagavad Gita in 2025, and Viaggio in Occidente in 2026), as well as the creation of the home-theater festival A CA’ (2026), supported by the Municipality of Ravenna’s Department of Culture. Furthermore, since 2025, the collective has co-managed the Novella Montanari Theater (formerly Zodiaco) under a nine-year lease granted by the Municipality of Ravenna.
