Violetta Cottini

Violetta Cottini is an artist from the Lepontine Alps, in Piemonte, who explores dance, performance art, and visual arts. She trained in contemporary dance at Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi in Milan. From 2020 to 2023, she collaborated with the collective Sorelle di Damiano. In 2023, she created the workshop Chincaglierie – Making Noise and participated in the Exit performing arts festival in Bologna.
Starting in October 2024, she will be part of the Creative Campus project by Sardegna Teatro. Within the 2024 Giornate del Respiro festival, she presents Chincaglierie – Making Noise x Secret Place with musician Carlotta Sofia Grassi, a performative extension of her research on objects developed in a workshop format. She works with Cristina Kristal Rizzo and performs in Monumentum the second sleep / second part, the quartet. For the past two years, she has collaborated with the DOM- collective (Leonardo Delogu and Valerio Sirna), performing in The Walking City and Darkness Picnic.
She won the ERetici 2024 grant (Theaters’ Roads) with her project Do fairies have a tail? in collaboration with Alessandra and Roberta Indolfi, now produced by Fuorimargine. She is currently deepening her exploration of visual art and installation in relation to performance.
