Roberto Tedesco

Roberto Tedesco, born in 1992, began studying dance at the age of eleven in Calabria. In 2009, he joined the Balletto di Toscana School and immediately started performing with the youth company Junior Bdt.

In 2011, he joined the Aterballetto company, where he remained for ten years. He won the Critics’ Prize at the International Choreographic Competition in Hannover. He choreographed for the National Theater Mannheim, created a work for Ballett Vorpommern, and was selected for the Think Big project at the Staatsoper Hannover. In Italy, he was selected twice for the Vetrina giovane danza d’autore and took part in the ResiDance (Anticorpi XL Network) and supportER programs of the Anticorpi Emilia-Romagna network.
With the project Decisione Consapevole, he was a finalist in DNA Appunti Coreografici 2022, took part in the Open Studios of the NID Platform in Cagliari in 2023, and was selected for the Programming section of the NID Platform in Vicenza in 2024. In Italy, he has created works for Aterballetto, MM Contemporary Dance Company, Opus Ballet, and XL Dance Company. He received the Danza&Danza Award as Emerging Choreographer of 2023 and the International Dance Award “Città di Foligno” as Breakthrough Choreographer of 2024.

He is currently a close collaborator of the National Choreographic Center Aterballetto, which has commissioned several projects from him. His choreographies are produced by organizations such as KLM – Kinkaleri / Le Supplici / mk and Körper | National Dance Production Center.

In 2025, with the project LOS(v)ERS for MM Contemporary Dance Company – of which he is an associate artist for the 2025–2027 three-year period – he is among the winners of the Per Chi Crea grant by SIAE.
