IO DANZO IO PARLO is a performance about the transmission of the “Code K,” a system that evolves from a pedagogical act into dance. Invented by Kinkaleri, the code is a gestural alphabet that links each letter to a simple movement, allowing for it to be transcribed directly onto one’s own body, in constant motion through space and time.
It is an active practice that invites the audience, both adults and children, to embrace writing as a compositional element to be embodied and interpreted. By adopting a code/language that, in its calligraphic application, has the potential to become something else, the performance redefines the ideas of learning and writing.
The work functions as a dynamic device in which the performer presents all the constitutive elements of the Code K, providing participants with possible applications that engage the body in its communicative and choreographic potential. The performance aims to be both a moment of active practice and a space for observation.
