In a journey that intertwines electronic music, performative poetry, and a Greek chorus, Sergio Beercock takes us through an evening of emotions, memories, and reflections. The concert opens with the rarefied atmosphere of “In an Afternoon of Few Syllables,” where the passing trains mark the time.
An intimate dialogue between mother and son catapults us into the heart of a personal journey, made of departures and returns, anxieties, and expectations. It is a call to everyday life and the concerns that bind us to our loved ones, to the fragility of family ties, and the force of time passing.
The journey takes us into the heart of the city, where fragmented dialogues reveal the duality between the native village and the adopted city. The broken conversations speak of roots and uprootings, of nostalgia for lost accents. The raw and direct images of “silent pilgrimages” from one bar to another outline an existence made of small rituals and fleeting encounters, of belonging and alienation.
The landscape of the hills becomes a refuge, a place to talk with hawks and observe the aging of parents.
The city becomes a temporary bride, a promise of stability in a world in constant motion. The experiences of poverty and loneliness mix with the search for a sense of belonging.
The return home becomes an act of reconciliation with the past and with one’s roots.
