NOBODY NOBODY NOBODY. It’s ok not to be ok unfolds through a series of performative actions, danced narratives that function as a stream of consciousness of the body as it revisits sensations and memories, a personal reflection on the traces left by a culture of violence and offense. A new narrative of the present that replaces that of the past by reprocessing sensations and tensions contained within the body.
NOBODY NOBODY NOBODY . It’s ok not to be ok begins in the autobiographical sphere, where I retrace my personal experience as a “bullied body,” and extends it to a broader external context. The intention is to connect the intimate space of bodily experience with the public sphere, with the aim of exposing the body in its most vulnerable state—in those moments when it surrenders to the traces that have forced it into a posture of control, defense and fear. A series of dances created to give voice to the skin, to those parts of us that are publicly cloaked in shame and judgment, deemed outside the norm. Giving voice to the skin, then, means bringing to the surface what too often remains hidden beneath it.
