Four actors, a frisbee, and a theatre grant deadline due in 36 hours. So begins a sharp, ironic metatheatrical investigation, stripping bare the ambitions, failures and fragilities of a generation struggling to find its place in today’s cultural landscape.
The action unfolds on a dual track: on one hand, the pursuit of the “perfect gesture”, the frisbee toss as a metaphor for the artistic process, requiring technique, rotation and a necessary dose of “lightness” to stay airborne. On the other, a profound existential urgency: the parallel between dedication to the stage and the complexities of human intimacy. Both require faith, sacrifice and a relentless struggle against the fear of “arriving too late” to a future that seems to have already written us off as superficial or emotionally inept.
Through biting dialogue, fourth-wall breaks and haunting dispatches from the future, the protagonists question whether it is still worth “throwing the disc,” or if it is more honest to admit that art and love are merely acts of resistance against personal inadequacy. Frisbee is not just a study of a performance, but a choral portrait of a necessary “jolt”: transforming frustration into a vital gesture. It reminds us that, like a caper plant growing in the arid rocks of an abandoned greenhouse, theatrical passion (and human love) endures simply because it is in its nature to do so.

Frisbee – A Love Story arises from the urge to explore the short-circuit between artistic creation and personal dimension, using the metatheatrical not as a mere stylistic exercise, but as a magnifying glass. The direction focuses on the parallel between “staging a show” and “loving another”: in both instances, one exposes oneself to the risk of failure, the weight of expectation and the need for blind trust.The frisbee serves as the visual and conceptual core of the production: an object that needs a push, constant spin and above all, someone ready to catch it. It is the perfect metaphor for a theatre that rejects self-indulgence to desperately seek connection. The direction maintains a sharp, syncopated rhythm, mirroring the anxiety of a “generation against the clock,” constantly battling with time and a nagging sense of inadequacy. The play asks: what remains of passion when it is filtered through the mechanics of grant applications or the deadlines of adult life? Through acting that oscillates between cynical realism and lyrical surrender, we aim to urge the audience to reclaim raw emotion. Our goal is to transform the stage into a space of radical honesty, where theatre, much like love, returns to being a vital, necessary act of resistance.
