Fin dall’antichità si è tentato di modificare le condizioni atmosferiche (temperatura, umidità, pressione e venti): si è danzato, pregato, fatto sacrifici umani per avere più o meno pioggia, più caldo o più fresco, ma il clima è rimasto immodificabile poiché autonomo e imprevedibile.
L’ultimo essere vivente in un futuro distopico e oscuro, impegnato nottetempo nell’ultimo, disperato atto di fertilizzazione. Questo è il concetto, sviluppato nel racconto di un umanoide avvolto nella sua corazza, sopravvissuto per errore a millenni di abusi verso madre natura, incapace di produrre energia da solo, che aspetta di rubare quella che resta alla sua Terra per poter respirare e perpetrare il suo rituale. La scena post apocalittica, il tentativo vano di ricorrere all’istinto primordiale di un antico rito nella speranza che nell’assoluta modernità possa servire a ridare vita e prosperità alle macerie del mondo. Il pianeta è privo di vita, fatta eccezione per lui che lotta per la sopravvivenza, sfugge alla morte e all’estinzione.
La tematica ricorrente del “punto di non ritorno” è amplificata da respiri affannosi, gesti pesanti e tempi dilatati. Una costruzione coreografica che arriva allo “spannung” con un’energia alta ma sinistra, portando lo spettatore in un posto “altro” e tenendolo col respiro sospeso fino alla fine della performance.

Men have always tried to change weather (temperature, humidity, pressure and winds): they danced, they prayed, they made human sacrifices to get more or less rain, to be more or less hot, but the weather always remained unchangeable because it is independent and unpredictable.
The last human being in a dystopian and dark future, engaged overnight in the final, desperate fertilization attempt. This is the concept, developed through the story of a humanoid wrapped in his armor, survived by mistake for million years of abuses against Mother Nature, unable to produce energy by himself, trying to steal the one remaining on Earth to breath and perpetuate his ritual.
The post apocalyptic scene, the vain attempt to apply an ancestral ritual hoping that it could give back life and welfare to the world’s ruins, despite the absolute modernity.
The Planet is dead, except for him, struggling for survival, running away from death and extinction.
The “point of no return” concept is amplified by wheezy breaths, heavy movements and extended times. This is a coreography that builds up to the “spannung” with a high but sinister energy, driving the audience into “another” place, bringing it breathless until the end of the performance.
